Local Heroes Rock Out for SEI!
On Friday the fourteenth of August Glasgow’s Stereo Bar played host to Local Heroes, a gig featuring three local bands in aid of Scottish Epilepsy Initiative.
The name was inspired by Bill Forsyth’s cult film ‘Local Hero’, and featured Glasgow bands Attic Lights, The Seers and The Invisible Republic. Laura Marks of Scots group El Presidente presented the event.
The night was a resounding success, with a massive one thousand seven hundred pounds raised for SEI. We will be looking to organise more music events in the future, giving people the chance to hear some great bands and support those in Scotland affected by epilepsy at the same time.
As Jamie Houston, of headliners Attic Lights, said of the event; “We love the idea of local heroes. It’s about local bands helping local people and we are delighted to be involved. This is the first of what we hope will be many such concerts to raise funds for a great cause.”
